New Starters 2025-2026
Welcome to Heathfields Infant Acadamy!
Starting school is an exciting time for you and your child and we can't wait to start your child's school adventure with them!
I'm sure you've all got lots of questions, and we'd like to reassure you that they'll be lots of opportunities for you to ask these over the coming months.
Now that the county council have allocated your child a school space here at Heathfields, you can expect to receive an induction e-mail from us shortly. This will give you some important information about starting at Heathfields, including some key dates. Please keep an eye on your junk box as sometimes we can slip into there!
If you did not receive a school offer on 16th April 2025, please contact Staffordshire Admissions on 0300 111 8007 or admissions@staffordshire.gov.uk.
Throughout the Summer term the Reception team will be busy making preparations to give your child the very best start to school. This includes speaking with your child's current settings and visiting your child at nursery where possible.
If your child has a diagnosed SEND need or another professional agency involved, please e-mail the school office at office@heathfields.fierte.org for a follow-up call from a member of the SEND team.
Wrap-around care is provided by Our Pride, Our Joy and further information about this service, including bookings, can be made by contacting hia.cc@opoj.fierte.org.
Starting school is an exciting time for young children and their parents. It can be a daunting time, too. But with a little preparation and encouragement, most children will settle in easily at school, ready to learn and discover.
Some important dates are as follows:

Please note, at this point classes have not been set, this is purely for you and your child to have a look around. Please access the school via the Overwoods Road gate only due to the school being used as a Polling station.
Throughout this time we will be busy contacting nurseries and arranging visits to meet your child in their current setting.
Wednesday 4th June- Induction evening for parents/carers only. This meeting is a chance for you to meet some of the staff, see the classroom your child will be in and have an outline of the routines and information about starting school. Times will be confirmed via an e-mail nearer to the time.
Tuesday 2nd September 2025- First day of school.
Please note-Children will be in school from 8.35am*- 1.15pm from Tuesday 2nd September until and including Tuesday 10th September.
